BEARPAW MONGOLIAN BOW, HORSEBOW, 56"
The Bearpaw Mongolian Horsebow recreates the charm of the Mongol bow—one of the most well-known models in the entire history of archery. The Chinese chronicles of the Tang Dynasty admiringly noted that “the warriors of the steppes can hit a running rabbit from horseback with a single arrow.”
The traditional Mongolian bow was a true innovation on the battlefield. It was smaller, lighter, and far more sophisticated than European bows. For a long time, it was considered the best bow in terms of both design and performance. The 13th-century Italian traveler, Giovanni da Pian del Carpine, wrote that all Mongols—from children to the elderly—practiced archery, as it was their favorite activity.
The Bearpaw Mongolian Horsebow impresses with its smooth, dynamic draw. For a beginner's bow, it is surprisingly efficient. The setback grip fits comfortably in the hand, and the horn reinforcement adds extra durability. The limbs have a distinctive profile, completing the unique look of the Mongolian bow with static tips (siyahs) and prominent string bridges.
