BEARPAW SKYTHIAN BOW, HORSEBOW, 50"
The Bearpaw Skythian Horsebow is inspired by the bows used by the nomads who conquered the Carpathian steppes, coming from the Altai Mountains starting in the 6th century BCE. These people were known as the “Scythians” by the Greeks, while the Persians called them the “Saka.”
Built according to the same principles that guided ancient archers, the Scythian bow from Bearpaw is a short bow with dynamic curves, a setback grip, and a low brace height. The bow stands out immediately due to its unique shape, created by its sinuous curves.
The Scythians were exceptional horsemen, and their weapon of choice was the bow. They developed a formidable horseback combat tactic in which the bow played the central role. They used short, recurve bows, ideal for mounted warfare. The Bearpaw Skythian Horsebow replicates these features, aiming to recreate the aesthetics of this type of bow in a model that is easy to handle, ideal for beginners. As a result, the draw weight options are also low, up to 30#.
It is a beginner-friendly bow, perfect for children, teenagers, or traditional archers with a shorter draw length, under 28”.
